Euro Consultants in Benin
Euro Consultants, a partner in the consortium led by Linpico (http://www.linpico.com/), was just awarded a technical assistance contract (PARASEP) as a part of the Private Sector Development Assistance Programme in Benin.
The purpose of the PARASEP is to contribute to the economy’s diversification, the reinforcement of economic growth and the reduction of poverty. It is based on four components:
- Improving the sanitary and phyto sanitary quality of products.
- Reinforcing the dialog between private and public actors, which includes different actions with the purpose of facilitating the dialog between public and private actors within thematic groups dedicated to specific issues related to improving the business environment and climate, as well as reinforcing the management structures that represent the private sector.
- Supporting the producing sectors, which aims to bring specific support to private actors, through training (entrepreneurial training), through support to specific agricultural chains, though pilot projects, or through studying airport or cross-border infrastructures that would facilitate exports.
- Supporting mesofinance.
More specifically, the PARASEP will be taking charge of project management for components 2 and 3 of the PADSP, as well as coordinating the whole PADSP.
The project should last a little more than 3 years and cost a total sum of more than 2 million euros. An official start-up workshop will be hosted in Benin at the end of November.
